Appointments

The majority of our appointments are available to book on the day, the telephone lines open at 8.30am.

We offer a number of pre-bookable appointments throughout the day.

We also offer pre-bookable evening appointments from 6.30pm on Monday to Thursday.  These slots are for ROUTINE appointments only, the surgery closes at 6.00pm therefore there is no pharmacy available at this time.  The front door is locked at this time so please use the intercom.

Telephone consultations

If you feel that your problem can be easily dealt with over the phone, please tell the receptionist.  All of our GPs have telephone appointments and our Nurse Practitioner is available for telephone advice.

Emergencies

If you require urgent medical attention and there are no appointments available you will be able to speak to our Triage Practitioner Andrew Philp who will assess your condition over the telephone and book you an emergency slot in surgery if necessary.  We will always fit in urgent cases but please try and contact us as soon as possible.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Test Results & Enquiries following outpatient appointments

When your doctor arranges a test you will be told when to contact the surgery for the results. Letters from consultants and hospital test results can take up to 3 weeks or more to arrive at the surgery.

Wherever possible, please contact the surgery in the afternoon for results and enquires.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
